George Henson has translated many of Latin America’s most important writers, including Elena Poniatowska, Juan Villoro, Leonardo Padura, Miguel Barnet, Alberto Chimal, and Claudia Salazar Jiménez. His translations have appeared in Asymptote, Buenos Aires Review, The Literary Review, The Kenyon Review, Words Without Borders, and World Literature Today, where he is a contributing editor. His translations of Sergio Pitol’s The Art of Flight and The Journey were published in 2015 by Deep Vellum Publishing. George teaches Spanish and literary translation at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Texas at Dallas.
